I have not included China’s President Xi Jinping in my book Pluto: The Power of Transformation, so here are a few insights into his global influence in the coming months.

We are approaching an important Neptune-Saturn conjunction in Aries. The peak of this conjunction will occur at the end of May 2025 to the beginning of June 2025.

China’s President, Xi Jinping, has Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra in his natal chart. In his case, both planets are retrograde and part of a minor grand trine, with Pluto (21˚ Leo) as the focal point. (Many people from his generation share this conjunction.) Theoretically, he might ‘naturally’ know how to navigate the influences of the upcoming Saturn-Neptune conjunction (late May–early June 2025).

However, while his natal conjunction is in Libra, the upcoming one occurs in Aries, a fire sign ruled by Mars—practically in opposition to his natal placement. Additionally, the transiting configuration differs significantly from his natal one.

What Happened in 1953  When Saturn Conjuncted Neptune (22˚,23˚ Libra)?

In 1953, the world witnessed the end of the Korean War with an armistice signed in July, and China launched its First Five-Year Plan, marking the beginning of its rapid economic and industrial transformation.

To understand how the upcoming transit might manifest, we must consider whether this Neptune-Saturn conjunction will trigger any significant planets or points in Xi Jinping’s natal chart. Since his birth time is unknown, we must exclude angles and house cusps from our analysis.

Key Aspects and Their Implications

The 2025 conjunction in Aries opposes Libra sign where natal conjuncton is Saturn-Neptune, emphasizing self-awareness, progress, and the culmination of past efforts. This transit suggests:

  • A heightened need for personal or national achievement
  • A push toward making a final effort in a long-term strategy
  • A strong desire to contribute something of value to society through personal growth

Additionally, Saturn conjunct Neptune at 1˚ Aries will square his natal Mars at 0˚ Cancer. A square (90-degree aspect) often indicates conflict, tension, and transformation, requiring action and adaptation. This is a cardinal square, which suggests:

  • Initiative, action, and leadership challenges
  • dynamic shift in political or strategic decision-making
  • Potential conflicts or assertive moves in response to external pressures

The Role of Mars: A Powerful Activation

What is particularly striking about this 2025 Aries conjunction is the role of Mars, the ruling planet of Aries. In early June 2025Mars will be at 21˚ Leo, forming an exact conjunction with Xi Jinping’s natal Pluto (21˚ Leo). This means:

  • Transit Mars conjunct natal Pluto will activate the entire minor grand trine, amplifying the overall energy of this period.
  • This alignment suggests a powerful and possibly decisive moment in leadership, political strategy, or global influence.

The Impact of the 2024 Solar Eclipse on Xi Jinping

Adding to this transformative period, the previous Solar Eclipse on October 2, 2024, at 10˚04′ Libra, closely aligned with his natal Venus (8˚15′ Libra). In mundane astrology, the effects of a solar eclipse can last months or even years. The general rule:

  • 1 hour of eclipse duration ≈ 1 year of influence
  • 1 minute of eclipse duration ≈ 1 month of influence

This means the eclipse may have long-term implications for Xi Jinping’s diplomatic strategies, alliances, and leadership approach.

A Significant Conjunction for the Collective: June 2025 & Beyond

For the global community, this major Saturn-Neptune conjunction might be strongly felt in June 2025, as Saturn continues to travel parallel with Neptune at 0˚ Aries. However, due to their slow movement and retrograde cycles, their influence will persist for an extended period.

  • July 13, 2025 – Saturn stations retrograde
  • August 17, 2025 – Saturn re-enters Pisces for a final “world revision”, so will bring a last phase of reflection, restructuring, and karmic closure before it fully moves forward into Aries in 2026.
  • February 24 – early March 2026 – The conjunction reappears (0˚-1˚Aries), possibly stronger

After March 2026, Saturn will gradually separate from Neptune, and they will not be conjunct again for many decades. The next conjunction will occur at the beginning of June, 2061, at 20˚ Gemini.
